Agoraphobia or general anxiety disorder?

Somehow I’ve lost my ability to apply myself. I know I need a job yeah I have cancer and schizophrenia but Everytime I remember that the disability form says “youre expected to not be able to work in the next 12 months” I wanna work so ■■■■■■■ bad. I used to just get on my bike and go places. I’m on .5mg of Xanax but my feet will not even let me leave the house. I wanna work I could work at a nursing home, pharmacy, grocery store, furniture store, if I was really well I could work as a teacher. I’m lucky to live near a Krispy Kreme and a Popeyes and a few satelite hospitals.

It’s like Everytime I get enough energy to apply myself, something else happens. I had stearorhea for 13 years turned out it was cancer. I do not feel like I can take advantage of the economy right now. I do still need to go to chemo every 2 weeks for the 3 days but I’m like soaking up thousands of dollars in welfare. How does someone get so sick? My scooter got stolen and that’s the big issue I have no idea where my scooter is but I can’t walk anymore. I’m 38 years old. Almost 40. I want that robust youth feeling to help me get off benefits but every single time I get close to a job anxiety and the length of the commute scare the ■■■■ out of me.

I am scared of getting to work on time if I work, chemo on time, I cant manage myself but I don’t need to be in a nursing home for it. I need to get my life to a place where I’m getting to work like I need to.

If you’re sick, maybe it’s better to take your time to heal

You could still apply for a job later

There’s no shame to have to not working

If you have benefits it’s because you deserve that

Use your free time to make things that make you happy

Not seeing how the topic is fear of wide open spaces or GAD…but regarding your content … its expected to an extent that one in his 40s will experience a profound change in ageing or constutution or whatever, however it affects you. Being on meds and having mental illness, cancer, and doing chemo is going to lick anyone. Cut yourself some slack buddy, put the social expectations on hold and put your feet up.

I feel like a fence is around my legs I dunno what that is yet I do take .5 mg of anxiety meds but like for instance this. I wanna go to the park but something is steady holding me in place.

Something is preventing me from leaving my house to go to the bus

Before schizo I had agoraphobia.

I couldn’t get out of my house.

Otherwise I would get dizzy and panic.

I started some benzos and slowly gradually I started making the first steps outside

As people get older they get more fears. More awareness. No more blind courage. Just take care of yourself and keep eating crispy cremes.

Maybe you need a scheduler, to prepare mentally before the events.
