# Anosognosia/refusing meds

How can I have it without having positive symptoms? I keep stopping my meds every month because I feel cured by not having symptoms then restart after symptoms come back because it reminds me I am still ill. I have been doing this for 16 years. I thought its related to having positive symptoms but some here have positive symptoms on meds yet they accept taking meds. idk what to do, I need to be court ordered and on forced injections.

I’m glad I’m not in that category. If I go off my meds my voice goes from kindness to cruelty within a few weeks. Then when I go back on them it takes so long to go back to the way it was, I often wonder if it eventually will just never go back. That’s why I don’t really try it anymore.
So I weigh 35 extra pounds, who cares. I’m happy and that’s what counts.
You’re not cured when you’re on meds, you’re just in remission thanks to treatment.

I can relate to you. I also consider coming off my medication sometimes but cos i am uncertain about it, i dont.
Unless my delusions are infuencing me. That is really bad.

Isn’t it obvious that the only reason you feel cured is because the medication is making you feel that way and the medication is controlling your symptoms and once you stop taking them the symptoms come back? It’s no mystery, isn’t this obvious?

I think you would feel even better if you never came off your medicine. I used to lack insight until I identified with all the symptoms people suffer when they are diagnosed schizophrenic and come off medication…

I think I did more harm than good messing with meds
Now I accept them and won’t mess with them again
Although I do still get urges to stop I just don’t listen any more
