Clubhouses are an excellent way to get out of the house even while you’re mentally ill. They offer acceptance, they’re very accommodating, they have socializing, etc.

I’m semi intelligent but struggle a lot and i’m stubborn. It takes a bit of time for me to accept things like what is best for me. Idk i keep saying i’ll do certain things like go to the community group but its scary. Idk what to expect from people there? Last time i went nobody spoke to me except to say hi

Wherever you go, wear a weighted vest and headphones. So when you get overloaded with senses you can calm yourself down enough to escape. I’d grab some books and go to a park for your first excursion.

Its a heatwave here today & tomorrow in mid 30s. I couldnt do a busy park

Weighted blankets/ vests ive tried in hospital and i couldnt stand them. Headphones is a good idea for me to try while out. What kind of music would you recommend? Ive been playing some relaxation music this week but its not very distracting from bad thoughts

I would do ASMR sounds instead of music. Music can play on your moods and make your sensitivity to crowds worse. I personally don’t wear a vest anymore. I wear a backpack to be less obvious. Just enough weight to hug me but not too heavy. Take something you can fiddle with attached to your bag. Fiddling with a small object can also help you focus on a good thought.
