Cost of my meds

I take a lot of meds for both mental and physical illness. The cost of my meds just went up so much I’m going to have to find things to cut out of my life. I eat out with my daughter once a week, I eat out with friends once a month, I take 2 piano lessons a month, and I buy pop on sale. I’m going to have to give some of that up. It’s a bummer really. I just can’t afford it though and we decided not to get the 2nd mortgage. We’re going to have to sell hopefully in the spring when the market is better. It was quite the shock at the pharmacy today

You don’t have an insurance that covers your medical expenses?

I don’t remember if you have disability or not

It’s not possible to have an insurance that covers better your medical expenses ?

If you’re not on Medicare, I advice you to look for it

Maybe you wouldn’t have to cut things off or at least less

Seems like finances are weighing heavily on your mind recently, with related posts. Money is a really oppressive thing when theres no easy way to get enough of it. I live very basically too. It can be tough having unfilfilled wants, but you have accomplishments, family, intelligence…so much of value in your life… money is just an inconvenience compared to those.

I have a Medicare advantage plan. I do not qualify for extra help. I’m already on the plan that charges the least for my meds compared to my other options. My husband is also disabled so our only income is SSDI. I only make 700 per month after taking out my Medicare insurance cost. My husband makes more but we have a home to care for etc. it’s just too expensive with the cost of inflation @Vaiana @Rainstorm

Oh, I’m sorry for your struggles

Maybe if you cut off a day of eating out you could replace it with a call with your friends or family

If you love board games, you can even play with them on board game arena(it’s a site)

I call my friends on Discord and play on board game arena,games that are on Discord, and scribble with them

@Vaiana @Milk I love board games and card games. My kids don’t. I’ll probably quit piano lessons, and quit going out with a friend once a month. That would cover it. Still a bummer though

Sorry that you have to give up some things you love. Yes, meds are so expensive! My amisulpride especially. Fortunately I get it through govt hospital so I pay - or my husband pays - a fraction of the cost. But they were talking about discharging me from outpatients in some months time and I’d need to go private then because I refuse to sit all day in a waiting room at the clinic. We don’t have insurance but can afford the meds but it’s just so expensive!

my medications cost 4000 EGP. thats alot in my country.i have no insurance.
