I just had a huge insight about self-care and health. I treat so many things I own with respect and guard them from damage but the most important/complex thing I own I treat like crap.
Why do we take care of everything but our bodies? Our bodies are machines and need to be looked after …realizing this I want to try and repair my beat up body!!!
That’s awesome if u are good to your body it will be good to you I’ve come a long way in how I eat but I need to do a lot better. I think for me projects sometimes stress me out and I need to be mindful.
Anyways…I hope you get the strength and endurance you need. Then you’ll be super lilly lol
@tarnishedLotus Eating is also a major factor in, “performance, rest & recovery” in regards to nutrition. Eating the right carbohydrates, intaking protein and drinking lots of water is essential to a good & healthy body.
I eat healthy food since young, while still eating what makes me happy (you can see with all the pastries I buy lol) I don’t eat enough meat though because I don’t like it
For exercise I’m not regular, sometimes I work out every day and then I stop for a couple of months lol
Not as much as I’d like. Strength training doesn’t work on the meds, it’s impossible to gain muscle. Do a bit of light cardio. Don’t have the healthiest diet as i rely on nutrient drinks because of swallowing issues.
Maybe people with mental illness often neglect physical health… But it is good that everyone here wants to train their body. I try to lower sugar intake.
I’m trying to. When I was even taking a small dose of rexulti, running/ jogging was very difficult. After a couple months of going off of it and titrating onto abilify, running has become so much easier. I can run quite easily now, less so on inclines, but flat course is very easy. If I can run and cycle decently for the next decade of my life I think I will have a lot of joy of my younger years back. I eat pretty healthy, but I have gerd which has recently worsened to chronic cough, so I’ll have to manage that with diet. Insomnia is still a problem. I could use a little more lean muscle mass, but that will depend on how active I am with running and cycling which tends to negate gains.
