Is this a normal thing for us schizophrenics/depressives. Im on multiple mental health meds olanzapine 5mg and flouxetine 10mg.i feel so down. I cant even read a book. My attention span is so low ---

Yeah this is a problem for me, I think it’s akathisia. Mostly for me it comes out as not finishing any of the video games I start. ---

Yup, I used to be like this. I’d rather not do anything really. Now I can read 50 pages in a book in one setting, I can watch a whole movie and so on. I’m on 20mg of olanzapine and 1.5mg of Vraylar. ---

I can watch a whole movie but i do it rarely. I watch 40-60 minutes videos on YouTube often. I was a voracious reader while I was growing up but I don’t read much anymore; the last book I read was Steven Tylers autobiography 7 years ago and before that was Keith Richards autobiography but I had to watch movies for college and read books and those were no problem but besides the two autobiography I mentioned and the books for college I haven’t read any book in ten years. ---

I really don’t know if that’s that important. You know I do nothing but watch you tube all day long but I feel that that’s such a vaste of time. Besides I’m on Clopixol depot and Seroquel XR 300 mg. Yesterday evening I took the alcohol test by drinking 1/2 a liter golden bear and felt nothing so I now understand that my meds still protect me from the effects of alcohol. ---

I had a much harder time watching movies and reading when I had akathisia. Without it I can manage. ---

I don’t get out much but just from waiting political and world event videos, with that knowledge I am able to hold an intelligent conversation with people. And lately I’ve been watching nutrition videos which among other things tell me which vegetable are best for my diabetes or the top ten healthiest foods to eat or top ten foods to avoid. YouTube is a vast wealth of knowledge for both trivial and also important things, I’ve learned a lot while still using it for entertainment like watching music videos or animal videos. ---

You know I watch everything you can imagine but the only problem I got from watching political videos is that I get that angry on MAGA. So I prefere watching music on you tube and none political videos. ---

I find having a snack like plain popcorn or smth to drink like sugar free mio or coffee and tea helps me focus better and longer. At the cinema I kinda have no choice, recently watched a 3h movie there. Once I am in there I tell myself I have no choice other than staying feeling like I am trapped lol But at the end I feel better for staying. Last time had two bbq pulled pork sandwiches though as I was very hungry for the first time in a cinema. Cinema food is trash usually and expensive.
