It’s nice to be able to breathe better when I sleep. It’s nice to not cough. THere are other physical benefits which are nice.
But I am gaining weight and I sleep a lot more.
Caffeine alone is not doing it. I feel like I need another secondary stimulant. I need the stimulation of smoking without the bad physical effects.
I also need to find something to do besides eating to replace the habit. Often, when I feel the need to go out on the porch and enjoy a cigerette, I will grab a chicken wing or whatever.
Honestly, the habit itself after so many years is harder to break than the chemical addiction, even though, thats not necessarily easy either.
congrats dude and great work! i recon it will be short term while you ween yourself off the smokes. gradually your brain will get used to lower dopamine and you wont have the urges to eat as much. wishing the best for you man
Hang in there. Things are bound to get better. Your body still needs a substantial amount of time to adjust to not getting the nicotine hit, and also to make new habits to replace the smoking.
Maybe try chewing a piece of gum or suck on a candy or mint to replace the act of smoking.
prince of peace red panax ginseng vials are good to me even tho they look like medical solutions for syringes. not good for me too often tho because i take ssri’s and serotonin syndrome would be terrible
Thanks for all the suggestions people. To me, it seems many of us may have to compensate a bit for the AP’s we are taking with other sources for stimulation . Thats probably why a lot of us use nicotine and caffeine a lot. I really enjoyed cigarettes and if it were not for the detrimental health issues which come with it, probably would still be smoking despite the cost.
I will look into some the suggestions that were made.
A monster or Red Bull is a good stimulant but not great for your heart possibly.
I quit before and used ice water. When I want a throat hit I would drink ice water which is really cold on your throat and kinda simulates it the menthol feeling. If you prefer reds maybe a tea or something
Are you still vaping? I was never a smoker but been vaping for a long time. A few years ago managed to lower nicotine from 40 to 2mg but still cannot stop. I tried 0 nicotine lasted a month. I was never a smoker as I hate the bad taste and smell. Vapes taste and smell good but still unhealthy.
I tried Wellbutrin it made me happier but at 150mg caused irritability and at 300mg almost relapsed had religious delusions but was on 1.5mg risperidone.
Even legal stimulants are bad for psychosis, caffeine and nicotine in high doses. It sucks.
