# My job has its little perks. Nice surprise today

I set my alarm wrong last night, I thought I set it to go off at 7:00 am but it didn’t go off and when I finally woke up it was 9:00 am and I had to be to work by 10:00. Technically, I still could have made it on time but I have my morning routine, like having my liter of Diet Pepsi, taking my blood pressure and blood sugar readings, and I like to take my time in the morning so I figured I was already late so I may as well be _really_ late.
I called in at 10:00 and told my boss I’d be there by 11:00 am. He said, '‘Well, would you just like to take the day off and count it as a sick day?” I said sure so I had a mini vacation and I don’t have to be in again until Friday. I took the opportunity to run a few errands and get my injection. I love it when stuff like this happens.
