I woke up this morning to a twitching lip
It hasn’t done this in months
I texted my psychiatrist, hopefully he’ll get back to me soon.
In the past it has twitched but today it is more noticeable
I’ve been on Austedo in the past and had to stop taking it because of unwanted side effects like severe fatigue and depression.
He may have to reduce my Risperdal dose
My psychiatrist initially wanted to give me more meds to take like Cogentin or Benadryl
He even suggested Ativan
I declined more meds as I don’t need more side effects so he is reducing my Risperdal dose from 3mg to 2mg a day
I agreed to this reluctantly but I don’t want the TD symptoms to get worse
I am kind of nervous about it though
Are you on an injection? I get random twitches when my medication is wearing off but it always goes away
No injection
I was diagnosed with TD 2 years ago
Be careful with lowering dose,at least take 2.5mg…Im sorry buddy ..
Yes @Milk im going to take 21/2 mg for a couple of days to see how I do.
Then I’ll lower it to 2mg
how awful for you…I would freak the hell out if it was me…supposedly since i’ve been on my generic prolixin over ten years there is no fear of TD. I hope that’s true.
anyways…so sorry you have to deal with this.

I’ve been battling symptoms of td too . I take Cogentin. In the past I took Benadryl and Ativan too..
He prescribed me all three of these meds
Can meds like Cogentin help?
What are the main side effects
Cogentin doesn’t really help me. Benadryl and Ativan helped some. However, Benadryl was hard on my kidneys and Ativan is a benzodiazepine. I already take a benzodiazepine for sleep.
Was lowering your AP ever an option that your doctor considered?
Cogentin is not considered a drug for TD

I’ve gone from 234mg Invega to 156mg. I also take 10 mg of Abilify. I guess I could try 117mg Invega again. I concerned about psychosis at the lower dose.

Honestly I may switch over to Seroquel
It has a lower TD risk
I’ve tried Seroquel. It quit working.
I was on 300mg of Seroquel XR in the past and I was stable
