I think women are a lot more mentally resilient than men, this isn’t always the case but I think women deal with their mental health on average better than men, what d’you think? does anyone have any data or studies on this?
Firstly men are more mentally ill than women
I think it’s evens stevens. That is to say, it’s the same for both men and women. I’ve been in enough psychiatric wards to come to that conclusion!
but what makes some women more resilient? I always thought this was true but never saw any information about it.
@everhopeful when I was hospitalised, there were a mixture but the diagnosis’s differed a lot between the genders as well, Maybe Its a mixed bag idk.
For example it’s easyer for woman to find a normal partner. That’s a good point
Maybe that’s a thing too,
When I was hopitalised and in my clubhouse and other places more men seemed to be diagnosed with Schizophrenia, I know its not a compiition but I am just saying what I have observed, Ido know women can get it later as well though. Maybe it’s hormone related. Testosterone vs Oestrogen or something
I swear I read a thing years ago saying that estrogen supposedly could help women manage their mental health better/have better outcomes.
Somehow anyways… ![]()
Idk.
Also yeah, women might be less judged for their mental health?
So also better outcome..
Were you resilient1, and no I dont think woman are more resilient, but they may be more frequently less affected by mental illness
Maybe women have more resources to seek help for mental problems? Men might be more likely to turn to intoxicants/desperate behavior/suffer in silence and are less likely to actively seek help from professionals?
I think this all has too do with toxic masculinity
Men are more afraid to reach out for help because its not “manly” if you do
If you ask me id rather be considered “less manly” than to suffer from what I go through
How can one prove this either way?
Like @everhopeful said, I think it’s split evenly among the sexes
I have seen, that among autistic adults, women are better at “masking” their symptoms, which sometimes means women get diagnosed later in life than men. This could also be perhaps the case with schizophrenics, as well.
But I generally think it’s equally tough for everyone
Women are suffering too.I find this even inappropriate to start thread.
