Schizophrenia is often viewed only through the lens of medication. But growing evidence shows that psychotherapy also plays an integral part in managing the condition.
I kind of saw the downside of negative talk on the old forum over the years. Focusing too much on negative symptoms and such made things worse. It would kind of create a hopelessness that would permeate certain members. There was one member in particular that has been gone for awhile that was just obsessed with the negatives and hopelessly pessimistic. Brought himself down every time.
It only makes sense that the reverse is true, as well.
Edit: I have been guilty in the past of focusing too much on the negative symptoms of sz myself. No more.
