Do you remember being a child and do you feel like you have big gaps in your memory?
I remember some things from childhood, a few being in 20s, even less 30s and 40s. Im late 40s and i havent done anything memorable really in the last ten years. Lived in supported for a year, moved into flat. Just had a lot of low mood struggles i guess not many laughs.
I remember a lot of my past. I haven’t really done anything in the last ten years either. I’ve been to Oregon a couple of times and when my sisters lived here I had dinner with them once a week and sometimes we went out to eat but I haven’t had a friend since I was friendly with my roommate in 2017 in the board and care home.
I remember a lot of my past too. Being a kid was actually kind of hard until my sister was born at 8. My brother who was a year and two days older than me tormented me and my dad favored him as his first born I guess, so I always got punished if we were fighting. I cried a lot for some reason. When my sister was born everything seemed to change, so maybe 8 to 18 was the best decade of my life with that little bundle of joy in the picture. When she was 11 when I was first hospitalized at 19 we were besties, but I soon grew distant from her as I moved away from home and only returned intermittently over the years often psychotic, while my brother lived at home with her for over a decade more. That’s life.
I have a handful of memories from childhood…mostly like getting a banjo for Christmas or laughing with my family…I was raised until six years old by my grandparents…both sets.
I don’t have much memories of my childhood,it was mostly bad memories in all case
I enjoy a couple of memories from high school though I had a good time in high school
I have a poor mental health since I’m a child,I was probably depressive as a child, wasn’t diagnosed though I didn’t want to talk to my psychologist
I talk to my psychiatrist once every 2 months, I talked to her recently ,she didn’t talk about a diagnosis just told me to take my medication and asked me what I need for disability
She will complete a medical certificate for disability (They asked me this),maybe she will write a diagnosis on it even though I doubt she will do
The only diagnosis I have is the ones my GP gave me : generalized anxiety disorder and phobia of wind
I do remember that chkldhood was pretty decent time even with some prodromal symptoms. And memories are fragmentary but there were some good times all right. This adulthood thing is much more difficult to remember. Lots of pain caused by mental issues, monotony and baing marginalized. Maybe better to concentrate to everyday existence instead of dwell in the past. But still some nostalgia can be entertaining every now and then. It was what it was really, no use to regret it now.
I grew up poor it sucked but I made the best of it. Lived in an apartment building lots of kids to play with. Went to a highschool where some kids drove porsches to school. Not many apartment kids went to that school. Didn’t go to school much. Didn’t care for it. Thought it was pointless at the time. Later went to college and I enjoyed it.
Yes,last time when I went in Southern France it made me so anxious to travel and I started to have a lot of voices during the train travel and then I heard threatening voices when we were in our Airbnb
