Does anyone get paranoid of meeting people you know out in public?

I do and i absolutely hate it. I dont want to talk to people tbh. I just want to be left alone

I can relate to this 100%. I’d rather chit chat with a stranger, than bump into someone I know at the grocery store or something.

It’s happened once since I moved here 11 months ago. I was in line at the grocery store and a guy I recognized as a neighbor got in line behind me as I was checking out. It was a little bit awkward when he recognized me but neither one of us said anything so we were equally responsible for the awkwardness.

I’ve been driving the same commute in the morning and afternoon these past 11 months too and I sometimes wonder if I’m driving past the same people in cars and I’m being recognized. I wouldn’t know because I generally don’t look at other drivers but I go the same route every morning at the same time so..

One of my best friends from childhood attended my father’s wake.

Although I was talking to him and was glad to see him I felt very uncomfortable at the same time.

I really am not that social anymore

I ran into my psychologist at the grocery store once. She was with her family. Maybe I should have run away but I said hi Dr _______! It got a little awkward. Her kids were pretty young at the time. I think I backed away gracefully but I don’t remember the ending to that story.
