You may find this funny

I think the best part of “The Godfather” is the character development of Michael Corleone. He starts off as a wonderful moral and intelligent man and he tragically collapses into the world of organized crime. He becomes cold, calculating, numb of feeling and dangerous. Perfect screenwriting as far as that goes.

It’s been a long time since I watched them

Used to have the dvd boxset

I think I like the second one more because it’s like nearly the story of every immigrant that came to America and tried making something of themselves. The first one went into too much of the politics for me to really get into.

What I liked about the first one is the character development of Michael Corleone. He started as a kind and smart guy who refused to get in the mafia business then fell in a spiral to becoming a cold, calculating, emotionless psychopath. Probably the best character development I’ve ever seen.

I don’t think many movies achieve this these days

Was a different time

Everything now feels superficial

Movies nowadays forget the art in favor of what makes money. It’s pathetic. Movies used to be so much better.

Years ago even a movie regarded as average was still pretty good

It’s a shame

I think leaning on AI effects makes movies dull and uninventive.

Ofcourse nowadays movies have to compete with entertainment platforms and social media. I guess this makes it harder to invest in them.

Back in the day movies had no competition. They could even make B movies that were very bad, but people would watch them anyway. That’s all over now.

AI may destroy the jobs of actors. Soon they’ll just animate them. They may still have voice actors though.

Just watched Pulp Fiction again. Another classic mafia movie.

Pulp Fiction is very memorable. The last gangster movie I watched was Blood in blood out, pretty good even at 3 hours.

Or maybe it was more of a mix between a gang movie and gangster movie.

Some other memorable mafia movies are Goodfellas, Scarface, and Reservoir Dogs. Always loved mafia movies!
