The eyes rely on the glasses
So when you take them off after many years of wearing them

I’ve needed glasses or contacts since I was a teen. Unless I’m going out, I generally choose glasses. In 2000, I was deeply depressed. I stopped taking meds and even stopped wearing my glasses altogether. My vision was not noticeably different when I finally started wearing them again. Now I wear them all the time. If I take them off, it’s very noticeable. People look like they have no faces and stuff. I’d say it could be because I’ve gotten older, but my prescription hasn’t changed.

My understanding is that people’s eyes get worse over time regardless of whether or not they wear glasses.

Eyeglasses just correct vision. The reason our vision tends to get worse over time is just due to aging. Yeah, when you remove your eyeglasses you notice the difference between corrected vision and our natural vision.

I only wear my glasses when I leave my house.
In my house I take them off.
I need them to see far away

I did lasik over a decade ago and my eyesight is good and do not need glasses according to my dr. Only did lasik in left eye which was almost -5.00. Right eye never needed anything which I find weird as its usually both eyes. Before laser I wore contact lenses.

I used to strain my eyes a lot to see better
Now I think it’s better not having to try and compensate

I started wearing eye glasses about 5 months ago. They are transition lenses that get dark in the sun.

I have transitions as well
You can get them cheaply online
Not too good with bright light but they help a bit

I bought my eyes glasses at Costco Optical. They are Gucci brand and are kind of flattering even though I think contacts 
make my eyes look bigger.

A great place for cheap glasses is Zennioptical.com. I can usually get two pair for around $100. If I do contacts through my insurance, I can buy my own glasses. You just have to know your prescription. I just called my dr, asked for the details on my script, then ordered them. No dr’s script required!

Wearing glasses isn’t going to make your eyes weaker. it just stops you from having the privilege to see better.
