Starting this morning I started getting unexpected sign up emails from various websites ranging from library of congress to online shopping to adult content.
The ip address for the sign ups is listed from New York and operating an old Windows 10 PC.
Ive been unsubscribing, declining new accounts and deleting emails all day. This has never happened to me before in recent memory.

Yes I signed onto the library computers with my google account… nobody has access to my account they are just using my email to sign up.

that’s very annoying. Hopefully they don’t have any other personal information

Hopefully not. The signups seem to have stopped for now.

That’s good. Hopefully there’s nothing else

Well, I see that there’s a lot of leaks in the news about gaining peoples information. You might have to change your email address.

If the signups start again I might have to…

Personally i wouldn’t trust library computers, make sure you have 2-factor authentication on if you do use one anyway. Also maybe check if there’s logins from other ip in your gmail (way down in the bottom right, ‘details’).

Yeah I did that before I understood what was going on. Someone is just entering my email address at a lot of sites but has no access to my email.
Gonna sign you up for Pilates

¿Suddenly, everyone wants to hear what you have to say? Do not forget to log off any device not on your person if possible unless it is a belonging.
