Why we Sz's should do anything differently?

That wouldn’t work because of the symptoms not fading away and doing stuff differently would just take even more energy from the Sz’s.

It works for some. I do it. Understandably a lot of szs are beyond any kind of treatment or rational thought, but for some trying to keep their thinking from deviating from what is actual is a worthy effort.

My experience is that there’s almost nothing I could do to the actual symptoms. Also because Sz is very much like a case-sensitive thing, we shouldn’t think that we even have a lot of common in our illness.

Yes, I doubt sz is an actual disease, but a general phenomenon of brain dysfunction with typical symptoms but varying greatly in each affected person so that it can’t be universalized to many. My opinion is still that when faced with detachment from reality it is worth the effort to reattach ourselves.

I myself have kind of a peer-to-peer connection to some aliens. All I can do is believing into myself and not them. These aliens are troublemakers and challenging everything that is known as ‘normality’.

Yes i understand that the aliens are unshakeable and that believing in yourself and not them is therapeutic.

Well yeah, I could freely claim that I am very trained person to handle this all, but as the Estonian claim goes it’s like a “knock this - appear the next” problem.

Yes, it is futile mostly. However, life is constant struggle even without delusions.

This is a pretty generic stuff about lots of us so need to close. Why would you run a forum where we need to obey to a limited discussions?

It’s a sz support site where people find therapy for their illness. As such delusions are talked about in recovery context to help heal.

On the other hand there is voice hearer groups and gangstalking groups online of sufferers that dont want to get better and talk about delusions as reality.

I think @Schizbro summed it up nicely right there.

The biggest therapy woulnd’t be by taming down how everyone experiences their illnesses. The biggest therapy would be taking the experience as it is.

Yes, but the problem is that your discussions may influence other members. This is the same policy we had on the old forum.

ONLY ALLOWED IN A RECOVERY-BASED CONTEXT (UNUSUAL BELIEFS)

The unusual beliefs category is for seeking help in overcoming delusions. It is not for trying to convince others that your delusion is true. If a thread about delusions stops being recovery-oriented, it will be shut down.

Similarly, we understand that members in recovery may enjoy philosophical debates about certain topics (aliens, gambling, government conspiracies, simulation theory, etc.) but those discussions are highly triggering to those who suffer from delusions. Any topics meant to debate these things will be shut down to keep this a safe environment for everyone.

My biggest bad influence is that people escape the real talk tho.

If someone makes an error in thinking they should correct themselves, no?

If I write there are aliens communicating with me that is an error, I should at least write I have the false perception aliens are communicating with me.

your voices being aliens that influence you is not the real talk. ITs delusions.

the only reason im allowing this topic to continue is that @Schizbro is trying to get through to you.

Why don’t you send that on a printed A4 to us all then and close the forum? I’m here to discuss the illness. But probably this forum is trying to put a grass in our moth that the delusion theory is 100% correct.
