2nd day of doordash experiment

Today we went out for about an hour and a half. Made $19.05, I think. 4 deliveries. Burned off approx 5 in gas. Better than yesterday.

The last delivery was 3 bags from Mcdonalds for 2 different customers. Was extremely stressful because only 2 bags were labeled. Had to figure out which customer 3rd bag went with.

Called it a day after that because it was confusing and stressfull.

Still, did much better on 2nd day than first. Made about 14 dollars after gas. Not a huge amount for an hour and a half, but not horrible, I guess.

Thanks for reading.

20 bucks for 1.5 hrs work is not great but if you worked a full 8 hrs you would make a hundy a day.

RIght. If we do 2 or 3 hours a day Mon-Friday, it will probably be enough to be worth it after gas.

MIght be a good enough temp thing until I find something else anyway.

It’s better than nothing.

Yep. Even 50 bucks a day profit is not bad.

Here, workers from Pakistani earn mostly through glovo or wolt. Its tough job,bc I helped one guy who fell from bike on traffic light.

I don’t know much about neurology, but when I helped him stand up, I tried to look up his brain’s condition and asked him to put his hands straight for ten seconds. Also looked at his eyes to see of his condition.

Thigs I learned from my psychiatrist who let me stay in his cabinet while checking patients..

My husband tried driving Uber and made some money doing that. But due to his back pain he couldn’t keep doing it.

i think uber is a good way to get some extra money if your in a pinch tbh. i dont think its the best longterm job because if you factor in depreciation on the car and insurance (more driving increases odds of accident or car break down). that being said, just being honest, it is good say if your between jobs and need a quick influx of cash its not a bad way to leverage your car and efforts for some extra money.

It’s not a terrible job either with nasty coworkers and bosses. You make own hours and can sleep in or work late. It’s a good opportunity for anyone thatvdidnt exist ten years ago.

On Instagram when they talk about hustle culture sometimes they have videos where guys doordash for 12 hours a day and make hundreds. Probably media shaping via to trick the kids into believing you can get rich off door dash. I’m pretty jaded. I think everything is a form of propaganda. Hence, I’m an existential cynic. Good things.

Here, in my area, dinner time pays the best since demand is very high. Can be up to $35/hour profit from 5pm-8pm

Haha, I’m one of those guys. I started Door Dash/Uber Eats almost two years ago now after starting Clozapine and I’ve learned the in and outs of making money. It’s really just a bit better than minimum wage. I’m almost full time now.

I might be able to do that time frame once it get a bit later in the summer. RIght now it gets dark too early and I have trouble seeing addresses and street signs. So we are preferring the lunch time at the current time.

We did late the first day and lunchtime the second and much preferred lunch time.

Ah nice! Lunch can be good. Have you tried doing Uber Eats as well? Here in Seattle Uber Eats and Door Dash own most of the market. I use both apps at once and helps me get consistent orders.

I watched a video when I was looking for some clarification on things where they used both as well.

No, we are not doing both. It was only our second day and we are trying to get used to the one right now. Might be a good idea once we completely get a handle on doordash, though.

I havent even gotten my thermal bag yet :stuck_out_tongue: .

I just use my map app to know where to turn. Also, you can get a strong flashlight to see those house/apartment numbers. Just an idea
