Hell, I oughta get some kind of award or something. Three hours in the dentist chair except for the five minute break I took to go throw up in the bathroom, lol. I was gagging and it made me throw up which has always been my worst nightmare when going to the dentist, at least I wasn’t in the middle of a root canal or getting a tooth pulled. He told me he has other patients who go in the bathroom and throw up.
He removed two old crowns and got two teeth ready for new crowns. The drilling went on forever, my jaw got so tired it was twitching. All the teeth were next to each other and already had root canals which is why he did them all at once. One tooth in the middle has to be pulled, he put a temporary bridge on the three teeth and I’ll get the tooth pulled soon and then he’ll put on a permanent bridge so I won’t need an implant and won’t have a gap in my teeth. Man, after three hours I was spent, believe me, I came home and rested.
Oh man, it’s crazy you said this, because I have a three-hour appointment with my dentist next Tuesday. Ugh, really not looking forward to it. I asked for the laughing gas, because I expect this to be awful.
I’m getting a root canal, then he’s going “build up” the tooth where it’s missing a chunk, then fill a couple cavities on the tooth behind it, then extract the wisdom tooth behind that. I won’t be able to smoke, spit, drink through a straw, etc, for at least a week. Don’t want dry socket again.
Oh man, that sounds bad. My last root canal went well, it was on an easily accessible tooth and took like 20 minutes and didn’t hurt and wasn’t that uncomfortable. You really got to trust your dentist to get work like ours done, I’ve been to this dentist before and he does good work. Good luck next Tuesday. And then you gotta go back for the crown.
I’m at the dentist at the end of the month and dreading it. They always want to give my teeth a cleaning which I struggle to tolerate. Might ask them to jab me this time so it can get done.
