Before I was planning of becoming a sophrologist but it would be stressful as I would be self employed and it’s a short term therapy so you need to find new patients on a regular basis to have a good salary
Recently I did a personality test that said my profile is artistic, social, enterprising
I looked for artistic jobs, I was interested to be a sewer but there are not a lot of jobs out there
In the social I saw Optician and I already saw this job when looking for stress free jobs
I need to do a two year technical degree to become Optician
I found a school in French Caribbean, it’s half school half work in a company
I need to think a bit more if I really want to do that, maybe I’ll test the job during 5 days
But because I have studies related anxiety, I’m scared I will have difficulties to do that
It’s less that what I planned before, I was planning to do a Master, but still 2 year is long
I was thinking of a training of 6 months/one year max
I don’t know
I also read on the forum that only 10% of schizophrenics work
I don’t have a diagnosis yet, and I don’t have much psychosis nowadays but I don’t have much motivation
I asked questions like “Is the training difficult ?” , “Do you appreciate your job”," Can I express my artistic side by being Optician",“Do Opticians stand a lot, is It tiring”
Opticians study people’s eyes to see what type of lens to use for their glasses, correct? Will that be something that excites you? You should feel invested in what you do
Opticians can do an eye test, know what type of glasses you should put depending on your face, can read the ophtalmologist prescription, check if your insurance pays the glasses
I think it could be interesting as I would do diverse things
There are original glasses in French Caribbean, I would be glad to help people choose beautiful glasses
I went to school 17.5 years. If I could redo it I’d do a good factory job. No job has security and to constantly train for years and go in debt for no job security sounds foolish to me now.
