Every day I put on my vinyls on the record player and I sit there for 1 hour or more and mindfully listen to this mystical experience.
I’m listening to Coltrane ballads album again. What about you?
From free jazz to black metal.
I experience something out of this world
I like Quorthon a lot, I think he’s genius. I’m not that much into free, but I like Ayler and Ornette.
He was the man.
I listen to Demon Entrails by Hellhammer a lot.
Yes. He was a genius for sure.
Bathory was all about him
Reminds me of celtic frost, I imagine they were from the same era and style
Hellhammer
Hellhammer is the first band of Tom Gabriel Warrior. After that he created Celtic Frost.
Warrior is also a genius and pioneer
It seems that a lot of bands have pay them respect with covers
Obituary, vader, opeth, death
Mayhem’s guitarist Euronymous took his name by the Hellhammer song Eurynomos.
Messiah vocalist by the Hellhammer song of same title. Maniac too. Hellhammer, drummer of Mayhem, took his name from the band also
It’s been one month now that I’m listening very carefully to Demon Entrails every noon.
I listen to the two of the three demos it contains. The other one has almost the same tracks
I bought it for 180€. The most expensive vinyl I have
When I ordered it, I didn’t know much.
I couldn’t expect this to become my favourite metal demos ever. I’m so blessed to have heard this compilation
Of course I already had the Apocalyptic Raids, which is a great EP. But the punk nuances of the proto- black of the Demon Entrails is unsurpassable
The Original Founding Lineup (1982–1983)
When the band first formed in NĂĽrensdorf, Switzerland (originally under the name Hammerhead), they were also a trio. This raw, highly chaotic version of the band recorded the infamous early demos like Death Fiend and Triumph of Death.
Tom Gabriel Fischer – Guitar, Vocals
Steve “Savage Damage” Warrior (Urs Sprenger) – Bass, Vocals
Pete Stratton (Peter Ebneter) – Drums (quickly replaced by Bruce Day in late 1982)
The Definitive Apocalyptic Raids Lineup (1983–1984)This is the ultimate, most famous trio that recorded Hellhammer’s seminal 1984 EP, Apocalyptic Raids. This specific lineup laid the groundwork for death metal and the first wave of black metal.
Tom G. “Satanic Slaughter” Warrior
(Thomas Gabriel Fischer) – Guitar, Lead Vocals
“Slayed Necros” (Martin Eric Ain) – Bass
Bruce “Denial Fiend” Day (Jörg Neubart) – Drums
You still jamming with friends?
Unfortunately no. The bassist is in an island working. I have no one to play with.
