Do you still have voices on meds?

I’m on 4 APs and still have voices. Anyone else?

I take Geodon, Abilify, Invega, Haldol.

Maybe time to try Clozapine?

Yeah maybe we are treatment resistant. The meds still help in other ways like mood and anxiety. Would be nice to get rid of psychosis but might have to live with it.

Yes. My doc says I need to learn to live with voices

Yeah it’s livable but annoying. Oh well cards we are dealt.

I’ve never tried Risperdal.

On abilify. I still have them when stressed or anxious or falling asleep

It’s the only medication I tried and it works on me

But I still have a lot of anxiety, and have low mood sometimes

It’s on my list to try next if Invega fails. I’ve been on Invega depot for 3 months but I’m giving it 6 months to a year to work.

Clozapine and Invega here, still hear voices, they never left.

I hope you’ll find a medication that works

Yep, I’ve always still had some infrequent voices while on meds.

My insight has gotten better on meds, so I can usually tell the difference between voices and real sounds. Still disturbing, though

When I lay down and close my eyes I hear one voice. If I get up after they are there but fade away. Weird.

Yeah it’s weird that happens too . It’s not loud and sometimes I just hear random sounds. Screeching, scream, a name etc

On minimal AP, have lots of voices. Learned to cope as long as my insight is working. Trained myself to treat them as background noise. I prefer not being poisoned by high doses of APs that leave me fat and exhausted.

Yeah I’d like to get off of everything but Invega. I don’t have side effects except prolactin but 10 mg of Abilify gets rid of that. But 10 mg of Abilify is an AP dose so.

Short answer: Yes.

On 20mg Abilify and I get breakthrough symptoms daily. The worst are internal voices, having random words and phrases pop into my head, and forgetting or losing my train of thought.

On the upside, I haven’t had visuals or major tactiles in a very long while. And outside of a recent event, the thought broadcasting has been minimal (except when I was working back in 2020-2022).

I’m sorry, I am very proud of how well you do and I don’t say it enough. You’re a success story and you need to hear that more often.
