Yeah it’s awful. I only boot into it when I have to. Ubuntu works great.

i wanted to instal ubuntu but i read its difficult to install vts’s on. virtual instruments. like i download a ton of plugins for fl studio and they’d probably be unstable or crash on linux. I looked into it a bit tho and it think it said i can run something called “Wine” or something and it would allow me to run windows apps on it. i forget it was a while back

Yeah there’s tools to do it but they are complicated. I tried setting my guitar up and had issues. Wine can run Windows programs sometimes. That’s how the steam deck (called proton) works to play Windows games.

damn i see yea… like for one application like photoshop or something i think it could work but for FL… i download so many 3rd party plugins and if even one goes wrong it crashes the whole FL studio program. even on windows its unstable and you can lose valuable progress in your project. crashes happen all the time on windows if you get a buggy plugin and youll hardly know which one it is if you have a bunch. That on linux i would imagine would be even more buggy unless you know what your doing, so i just run windows.

Because my laptop bugs sometimes, I use the laptop of my bro when I want to play games, or do vocal on Discord

But for me a laptop can be used for anything

I am a bit old fashioned and prefer a desktop pc due to ergonomics and other things. Could be history soon due to the astronomical prices of pc wares as of late.

Im never buying a laptop again. Only netbooks or chromebooks etc. for me. Any use of laptops beyond netbook capabilities overheats them, slows them down. laptops cost a couple grand for a decent one and netbooks are few hundred.

I have a whole WFH set up from my past job that they let me keep. I have a nicer end of a HP laptop that docks to a hub that powers two 24" monitors. I only use mine set up for writing now and not working from home. But I love my set up

My laptop is my main computer for gaming, email, the forum, web browsing, everything. The big difference between this and all my previous computers is I now use a second monitor and boy can I tell you it’s a revolutionary thing, I can keep wikis for games up on the second screen and look up stuff without alt tabbing. My second screen is bigger too and is the one I use for youtube and other video playback. Works great!
