Ended up at A&E?

Called out of hours 111 this morning about my son as he has a very snotty nose swollen glands and a bad cough.

Told to go to what I thought was the out of hours GP at the hospital. When I got there they said my appointment was in urgent care which is in A&E

I turn up there. I’m given some sort of buzzer alarm and told when it buzzes to go back outside and find a cabin where I’ll be seen.

I find the whole thing really shadey. Firstly because I shouldn’t be at A&E for what seems like a viral illness and secondly the buzzer and having to find a cabin outside.

Also it was like a 3rd world ■■■■ hole in there. So I left.

I’ve had 2 phone calls since leaving. One from the nurse and one from the doctor. I told them I’m not having my son wait in a 3rd world ■■■■ hole. And that I have every right saying that as I’ve actually been to one.

I’ve been to the A&E several times before (most visits occured in the last year or so) and I must say that I agree with you. Worse yet, you could be waiting in the A&E waiting room for up to 9 hours to just get seen by the doctor.
