Getting lazy - plans for tomorrow

We have to run several errands tomorrow . Including a store run and putting in my application at the car detailing place. I’m starting to feel anxious about it. Several people here have mentioned how physical this job may be and I’m wondering if it might be too much for me now.

I’m tempted to pull out (thats what he said), but I know that I really shouldn’t considering our income vs expenses situation at the current time.

We have savings but they wont last forever if we have a deficit.

Still, I’m considering pulling out of this endeavor and looking elsewhere.

Another factor I’m considering is that I dont want to make my niece who is the manager at the place look bad if I cant to a good job because its too physical.

IDK.

Thoughts?

Advice?

I guess you know better than us what you’re capable of physically. It’s probably a lot of bending and maybe light scrubbing. Can you tell your niece ahead of time you’re not sure if you can handle it but you’d like to try?

I liked this mainly for the “that’s what he said” reference lol

Idk, if you aren’t feeling confident about it.. maybe not applying is a good idea.

I kind of already told her “I’d give it a shot” so I guess that was sort of implied.

Only thing I can say is try it out but start off slow. If you have ten minutes to do a car take eleven. Wash the cars like you are doing tai chi. Slow soft movements. Don’t tire yourself. Give it a shot. Maybe the stars will align and business will be slow for a few months, until you get conditioning.

Hope it works out for you. I guess you never know unless you try. At least it’s not an assembly line job. Those suck.

You’ll be car detailing, like the interior? I’ve had my car detailed, inside and out, a few times and that takes a certain amount of skill and patience. It isn’t easy.

I did car washing and detailing in industrial therapy at a huge psychiatric hospital.

There was usually only a couple cars a day.

Washing the exterior of the car was not hard, but I was 30.

Cleaning the inside is done with vacuums and shampooers , but working bent over in tight spaces is a bit tough. Its a job for a small guy.

When I get my car interior detailed they clean out every crack and crevice on the dashboard and the console and the doors and around the radio and heater.. Seems like a painstaking process.

Depends on the level of detailing. The last time I did a good detail on Vlad the Impala I took out the front seats to do the carpet under them. Gave my back a real workout. Gilgamesh (truck) is getting the same treatment in May.

I personally think it’s too much physical work for you…just me though…sorry. I worked hard when I detailed cars.
