Got 99 subscribers on Youtube but I'm concerned

15 of my subscribers are small children and I can’t block them. There’s a hide option but it only hides their comments, not the content. It’s not like I’m talking about inappropiate things but it’s definitely not something kids would be interested in. Mostly work and broken dreams which I think is inappropiate for kids. Kids are impressionable. I don’t know how to handle this. Even when I restrict it to over 18 they still somehow find a way to get into my lives and subscribe. I don’t get their fascination with the topics I’m talking about. My sister said maybe they look at me like a big sister.

Unfortunately there is not much you can do. It’s up to their parents if they want their kids on adult or kids youtube.

Ethically you’re not responsible for kids viewing your material, I just wouldn’t target your content to kids specifically.

Yeah usually it’s not. It’s just me talking about my workday. I got suspicious when some kid was like he was 10 and I asked him on the live if he was supposed to be on YouTube. My niece and nephew just had an incident happen while playing Roblox. I don’t think it’s appropiate for kids to be in adult conversations. Some may think it’s cute, I think it’s hard headed.

or maybe hard headed is the wrong word. These kids are acting out of normal range. Their content is inappropiate for children.One little girl put up her middle finger, another was cussing. Something is going on at home apparently.

For what it’s worth, Roblox is a cesspool for that kind of stuff. It’s a known issue at the moment.

You talking about work and adult themes isn’t the same as the people who go out of their way to target children about adult themes, especially in child-centered places like Roblox.

I’m not saying to not be mindful of your audience, but it’s definitely not fair to yourself to over curate your content because parents let their kids use adult youtube.

You can set videos to 18+ and “not made for kids” - locks them out, but also anyone who is not signed in. You can do the same with live chat.
