I’m surrounded by very smart people…makes me feel kind of dumb comparatively. They speak so eloquently and I am just usually silent around them…they put me in awe. Oh well…I used to be very smart…
I feel the same especially when people in groups interrupt me and continue my own discussion. I hate it when they talk about work as I don’t work. Especially finance like trading and AI or programming stuff. I feel lost and dumb. I try to talk about politics or video games
Yeah, but on the other hand, don’t you feel smart around dumb people?
well I guess…mostly I see these ppl all the time so it has an impression on my that I need to study more.
LOL @77nick77 , it’s a matter of perspective, right?
Eloquent words are a product of education. These people don’t deserve your awe. You deserve their respect. Juke this post made me sad man.
I’ve been told as Journalist, that using large words aren’t a sign of intelligence, but being able to speak in a way that people understand is.
I like that. Effective communication is really important
I used to be really intelligent
I’ve lost a lot of it now but others still consider me to be a smart guy.
It’s been a long journey with all these drugs (meds) in my system
It takes a toll on your body, including brain health.
You know in time I’ve lost interests and drive and I think that’s why I consider myself as somewhat dumb.
I was very intelligent when I was younger. Got good grades all through school, but hit the prodromal phase in my 20s. Still managed to do well in some tough classes in college when I was prodromal, but the ■■■■ hit the fan a couple years after.
I definitely lost some IQ points but still try to keep learning new ■■■■, even though meds and symptoms f up my attention.
Common sense/practical intelligence > IQ score. How you handle real life problems/situations
