I got my drivers license for my new state today

I got the temporary paper license and they will be mailing the permanent one out soon.

Weird thing. When I called to set up teh appointment they said I wouldn’t have to take teh driving test because I had my license from old state, but I would have to take the written(computer) and vision test.

So, I reviewed some of the potential questions for the written test online just to be sure I was gonna pass. They were pretty easy so I figured I was good.

But they never made me take the written test at all  . Just the vision test. And my eyes are pretty smart so they passed without studying. :stuck_out_tongue:

Anywho, bad jokes aside, I had enough documentation to get the star on my license as well, so I can fly and all, I guess.

Oh before I go, I also read online that they would confiscate my license from the other state. That never happened either. They just gave it back with a hole in it. Like one of those paper punch thingies.

Oh well…

I think only California makes you take the driving test. The rest it’s just the vision test if you already have a license. I might be wrong but I swear I read it somewhere. I know when I did nuclear medicine to work in california the needed every test that I’ve ever done documented and check. Really strict.

I had to renew my license cuz mine expired today…I just answered some questions online, paid $40, and they sent me a new one with the old picture. I already had Real ID on the old one and it transferred to the new one…no tests to take, no driving. It was surprisingly easy.
