Since the car accident. Yesterday when I was in the car and my ex was driving I panicked and thought we were going to go into the verge so I grabbed hold of the steering wheel. Just like I did that day. It shocked me and now I don’t feel like a safe passenger in the car.
Think I will avoid going in cars for a while. I don’t want to risk anyone’s life.
Ugh. Now I’m thinking of chaos theory and butterfly effect again
But I have to continue to tell myself that causation is not the same as responsibility. But then that begs the question on free will and intent.
Do I seek a Calvinist church ?
Maybe time is going backwards ? Perhaps it’s not forward linear like we perceive.
Perception is an interesting subject.
On another note. My tongue is not white today.
You aren’t well @Qwerty ..
Can you contact your psychiatrist ?
I only said that and it’s a shame nobody replied yet..
I’m sorry for your suffering
Did your doctor talk about doing therapy?
No @Vaiana I havnt seen a dr for a few weeks now.
I do have a medical insurance evaluation coming up though. For the purpose of compensation. Insurance company has accepted liability and now I have to go for a medical. Just waiting for an appointment.
I have the police coming over too at some point. They have to take an official recorded statement from me as to what happened. That way they can send it to the coroner and continue the inquest.
I shall be going to the inquest as I think it will give me some closure.
I have heard that emdr can be pretty powerful
Aight
I hope you’ll have a good answer from the insurance and will be able to see a doctor soon
Does listening to uplifting music and watching non violent movies/series help you to distract yourself ?
Yes @Vaiana I listen to music most the day.
I havnt been watching tv lately. I really need to see season 3 of house of the dragon. I enjoyed season 1 and 2.
That’s good
Try to do things that make you happy
And come here as much as you need to talk ![]()
Therapy can help you work through what happened and also your current fears. Avoiding situations leads to more avoiding and so on until you’re afraid to leave your home. I’ve been there and I don’t recommend it. Try to get therapy. It’s important
Ty @Vaiana
Gee I’m sorry that you are going through a rough time now @Qwerty
Make sure that you take some time out for yourself
Thanks @Wave it’s hard taking time out for myself at the moment as it summer holidays and the children are off school.
I will get time again in a couple of weeks when they go back. But in all honesty I think being busy with them is keeping me sane. God knows how I’ll cope when they go back. Routine will be good. But there will be a lot of free time and room for over thinking.
@Qwerty , I’m glad you’re busy right now. Maybe start planning now for what you can be doing when the kids aren’t home so you’re prepared.
I’m really sorry you’re going through this
YEs, I had the same experience and it lasted for a long time. Had car accident while someone else was driving. Then for a long time I was not comfortable riding passenger. Only felt safe when I was driving.
