I have never had voices that talk to me. I have had a couple audio halluciantions over what is well over 10 years diagnosed sz now. But never legit voices.
I think it might be interesting to have them for a day just to see what its like. It might also lend me to have a better idea of what others with voices are going through/accustomed to.
But I defintely would not like them to remain forever.
I like my peace and quiet when I can get it around here.
It’s freaky bc you can be fooled into thinking you’re actually hearing someone talk to you and then you talk back thinking it’s genuinely the people it claims to be (you get caught up)
I’ve been having an increase in visual and auditory so saw pdoc today. He wouldn’t change my meds, but told me to go to therapy and lower my stress because that’s why they are worse. I don’t know how to lower my stress other than to move away from family and become a hermit. My illness was not built for a normal family life.
It’s confusing and terrifying the stuff they come up with catches you by surprise and scares you. Also your constantly pondering on wether or not your telepathic/hearing evil spirits
I had some audio hallucinations a long time ago but luckily they were only temporary, these days I need to be careful that my Larp character doesn’t bleed into my own persona, there is also another larp starting and I was asked to join and I was like no, 2 characters is too much for me to juggle,
some of the others said they use to go to like 6 a month and few others, I can’t even comprehend juggling multiple characters like that, I’d lose track and it’d probably drive me mad again.
Sometimes when they’re tied to hallucinations it’s like entering a different world. When they’re friendly you never feel alone. You can get lost. They can tell you about things that spark your interest making you want to listen. But typically they repeat and comment on everything. It can be annoying.
i talked to “scientists” in charge of my virtual coma existence while delusional…later it became Jesus I was talking to…I feel lucky it was only when off meds that I talked to voices…
I don’t really have voices, but my inner voice will sometimes sound like it’s communicating external thoughts, like from a different person, and say upsetting things to mess with me.
My voices do the whole narrating thing like your’s…it’s pretty easy to ignore those. When I’m actively psychotic they change to insults and commands to hurt myself. I have 3 different voices and I named them a long time ago…i can actually differentiate which one says what. It’s still there even on clozapine but they don’t bother me too much anymore.
My voices are internal and from spirits in my head but most of them are evil and tell me horrible things, instruct me to harm other people and tell me I’m acting and am a liar, fake, hypocrite etc. it’s not nice! But I do have a good voice as well, she tells me comforting things like it will be ok, don’t listen to the evil spirit etc. and she sings me a lullaby. My voices have names.
