If you do not go off medication but lower it enough to tolerate side effects,

and still hear voices, could that lead to brain damage that you are hearing voices long term?

cos i like reading, and i know for a fact that higher normal doses of medication affect concentration on me?

also i am very sensitive to the side effects of medication

does anyone have any science journals of evidence for example?

I’m not sure.

I have no serious side effects

it is a tricky one cos they say psychosis leads to brain damage but they also say antipsychotics change the brain, but what and where is the evidence and where is the balance in terms of how much medication i should take with side effects vs hallucination levels.

i am calling the gp about this on monday cos todays appointment got cancelled

I don’t think they have any idea.

Go to your closest medical school library and ask the librarian to help you find articles about it in medical journals

Hearing voices (auditory hallucinations) does not typically cause direct, physical brain damage on its own, but it is a symptom of underlying conditions—such as schizophrenia, severe stress, or trauma—that may involve progressive changes to brain structure. Untreated, frequent, and severe hallucinations can lead to, or are associated with, long-term cognitive impairment and, in rare cases, structural brain changes.

Ohhh how did you get it back, if you did.

Sorry to hear that. Freelunch i think ive lost some memory too.

Did a memory session the other day was not exactly great

My brain feels weird, it feels like pressure in there against my skull.

Didn’t get it back yet

I was under the impression there are schools of thought about this, one party claims meds prevent brain atrophy, the other claims drugs cause the damage itself. Actually it could be both since brain is so fine tuned these drugs hammer the homeostasis and change the neurology anyway.

What drugs are available are just band aids at best, the real treatment is still elusive. Like the latest research points out source of this condition, it could be hippocampus, prefrontal cortex or cerebellum. Just like upcoming drugs could better attack the condition at it’s source. Sorry for the tangent, must be the disease speaking.

I dont understand your first paragraph?

Not for me that I know of. Passing cognitive testing. I also push myself mentally a LOT, which I am sure helps.
