YOu need ot go to a dentist.
As do I. I have been putting it off because of other expenses. I have to pay completely out of pocket for dental work.
The dentist said i might need braces in 9 months time.
Im worried about my teeth too. I have so few left in the upper part that i can chew on, that if i lose a filling or chip a tooth any further I will only be able to chew on one side. It’s horrible!
When was the last time you had a check up and a cleaning? If it’s been more than a year you should go in to have your teeth looked at. Brush twice a day for two minutes each time and use a soft toothbrush. Several years ago it was fashionable to use toothbrushes with hard bristles but now dentist’s don’t recommend that. Does your insurance pay for cleanings? If not, some dentists will charge low income people on a sliding scale so you pay less than usual. You should definitely get X-rays and a cleaning done.

Brush regularly and get check ups. As long as you stay on top of the brushing; you’ll be okay.
I think it was Joker who reiterated how costly it becomes if you fall short on taking care of dental health. I’ve pretty much remembered that as a lesson to make sure I always brush as much as possible
Thanks mrapple u make a very important point
Stop eating sweets. Dont drink high acid beverages. Chew sugarless gum.
In other words, just give up everything youve ever loved and you’ll do fine. ![]()
I neglected my teeth for a long time when I was sick
Now I have gum disease and lots of fillings
Know that hygienist appointments are private but it’s worth doing
I also have to use a special toothpaste
It’s not even guaranteed, but that’s the conventional wisdom.
I have periodontitis also they will scrape the black crap off your teeth I get that too unless it’s a rotten tooth
From someone who worked in the dental professional field for several years.
Please go get a check up at a dentist. I’m not sure what country you are in but here in the US if you don’t have dental insurance many dental offices do first time discounts (I.e. $99 for a check up, X-rays and cleaning and full work up)
If you have tooth pain, a special tooth paste made for sensitivity can provide some relief but it’s not a fix for actual dental care.
My dental routine is morning and night 2 minute brush(I use an oral B electric brush) and I use a prescription toothpaste with extra fluoride, I floss nightly as well as water pick nightly. If I feel something stuck in my teeth I will also floss that out right away.
My teeth are really bad from years of being bulimic, but starting now with proper care can greatly increase your chances of your teeth not getting worse.
