Keep breaking teeth

Does anyone else have bad teeth?

after years of neglect I am now paying the price

Just broke the second tooth in the last 6 months

The dentist said last year I could save them

I am not paying over £300 for a crown

But I don’t know if losing teeth in late thirties is typical

What are you eating? Rocks

Pop corn split one of my teeth and now it is sensitive to hot drinks.

I use sensodyne rapid relief and it works most of the time now.

Need to pay for the crown I’m afraid, as it costs more in the long run though.

Dude I just chipped my first tooth last month after having nightmares about it constantly for the last 20 years. It was one of my four front top teeth, the leftmost one, I took out a corner chunk by gnashing my incisors together super hard while sleeping. I know I did that because I woke up in the middle of doing it.

My dentist said I need a nightguard but the one I boiled at home is so bulky that it chokes me and makes me drool so I cannot keep it in. Each night I feel like I’m rolling the dice with my teeth, not sure what to do.

Don’t mean to hijack your thread just chiming in! The one tooth that was chipped was fixed with bonding and looks fine now. I could include before and after pics but I don’t wanna trigger anyone sensitive to that type of thing.

Not highjacking at all!

I don’t really know when your supposed to have dental issues

Do you think you’ll need a filling?

Now that I think of it I’m pretty sure she fixed it with a filling. At least that’s what she called it and what she charged me for. Still confusing to me since it wasn’t a hole but more of a missing piece, but she still called it a filling.

Wait a second, I didn’t read close enough last time, did you say you wont pay over 300 euro for a crown? If that is euro, that symbol, that’s only like 350 dollars. That’s a downright steal for a crown. I only have one crown and it cost me over a thousand dollars. I’d get it if you can at all afford it. Don’t want to let your teeth go.

It’s £300. (UK pound)

We pay a contribution towards the care

To be honest not sure if a crown is an option if half the tooth is gone

Thats still quite a bit, even with help.

I neglected my teeth during COVID.

Then start washing again.

My dentist asked if I use lot of coca cola,or neglected washing, cause it came to deminarilazation (loosing calcium)

I’ve puled two teeth this year due to breaking..

Oh man, my teeth started breaking in my mid thirties; unfortunately I’ve been neglecting them for years. Now I’m 46, have had three broken molars pulled and have another one that needs looked at. Even if it’s fixable with a root canal and new crown I’m not sure I can afford the copay. Idk how much it will be, but I really don’t want to lose yet another molar.

I’m guessing I need other work done, too.

It’s so hard to know what to do

I am tempted to just get them removed and have a gap

Yeah you just might have a hard time chewing crunchy stuff on that side.

She said a root canal tooth is dead

I thought the black was the crappy metal they used

had that one done when I was 17 so it lasted ages

I always ask for old (black) filling.. my dentist is against, but it’s my choice… and cheaper

She did a temporary filling so will see how long that lasts
