Is it a good idea to go on a vape instead of smoking?

I’ve tried everything to quit smoking, it’s really difficult to quit. I brought a vape on Wednesday last week and finished my last pack of cigarettes about 3 hours ago and been smoking my vape and it has settled my cravings. I don’t really want to get addicted to vaping, is it possible to cut down on the vapes and quit them both this way?

My aunt years ago got her vape liquid from one of those dodgy vape shops

They can start you on a strong vape then gradually reduce the nicotine over time

It worked for her

She must have smoked for 40 years

I had a strange dream that I smoked again.

I quit smoking 20 years ago cold turkey. Now I hate cigarettes. They ruin lives and they are disgusting. They should be made illegal.

No. just do the two weeks hard labour of craving and be done with it.

Those two weeks will serve as a reminder of how difficult it is and teach you not to go back.

Eeking it out, slowly and switching to alterantives also means no lesson is learnt and easier to go backl!

Vaping is not much better than smoking.

Try to quit altogether

No cigarettes no vaping

Your lungs will thank you

The NHS standard practice is to switch to vapes and try quit that. But that’s evidence backed to be a dangerous idea

I think vape.is more toxic chemical

im not sure to be honest. I think vaping is smokeless so its a bit better in that sense, but i noticed with nicotine pouches, its much easier to consume more. When i smoke i smoke one then forget about it for a while… when i used nicotine pouches i use them literally all day. i imagine its the same thing with a vape… you dont have to even step outside… you just grab it whenever you want a hit and vape all day.

google says:

Yes, vaping is generally considered less harmful than smoking tobacco cigarettes, but it is still not safe or healthy. Leading health organizations, including the Johns Hopkins Medicine and Health Canada, emphasize that while switching completely from cigarettes to vapes reduces your exposure to deadly toxins, vaping still delivers harmful chemicals into your body

Cigarettes were bad for my lungs, but vaping was bad for my heart, so I quit both 7 years ago.

I quit smoking about 9 weeks ago now, I think. I did it with a combination of chantix and nicotine gum in the beginning. The first couple weeks had one here and there. Not many. Then went to just chantix and the gum. Then just the gum. Now I am just on a piece of gum once in awhile.

I’m near the finish line of having no nicotine crutch at all.

I was not able to fully quit when switched to vaping. Ended up switching back to cigarettes.

My doctor said cigarettes are worse than vaping. Been doing the non tobacco pouches for a while now but thanks to the US fda I can no longer ship them in from Sweden. Im now on nicotine gum and I think I like it more than the snus.

You must feel so much healthier after quitting. You should be proud of yourself. Its an extremely difficult thing to do. I wish my mom would do the same as you. She has COPD and still smokes..

Congrats, the success rate is like 5% so that’s quite an achievement.

I would say jumping to vaping is just dealing with another set of problems. Addiction is addiction and vaping has its own dangers, best to make a clean break off the substance entirely. You save so much money.

My parents both quit smoking in their late fifties early sixties. They both did it by chewing nicorette gum
