Always ignore them. Usually the content is distressing. Also they are not real, just figments of the imagination, a product of schizophrenia

You know I haven’t experienced voices for a long long time but when had them I always ignored them. I understand how tempting it’s to give into them. But please ignore.

I prefer to ignore them but it’s really dependent on the intensity and type of hallucinations. I find “command” voices more distressing than just commentary.

Ignore. I’ve never seen anyone who plays with their hallucinations improve. Not once. Ever. Over three decades. Best way I know of to make yourself worse TBH.

Now I DOMINATE :cat_with_wry_smile:

Interacting with any voices is always bad unless you have 0 delusional thinking, and that in itself is super rare.

Beyond that you shouldn’t be interacting with voices that are giving you orders or being mean. Interacting with the nice voices may be benign under the right circumstances, but i really think 98% of the time the results are gonna be bad. All it takes is one drop of delusional thinking to turn conversation into action and endanger your life.

My official answer to this question is just to ignore them. As badly as I want to stress there are environmental factors which can lead to benign interaction, it’s just that… benign. Neutral, not helpful, and certainly not worth the risk.

I think to ignore is better. Try to get your mind off things.
