I am growing depressed about life even though many things are happening that aren’t so bad…mainly the heat of the summer sun is my greatest nemesis right now concerning my depression…it’s wearing me down to the point that I could cry about it…it stays around 85 degrees f. in the house these days when the heat index is over 100…Fall can’t come soon enough…but life is hard I think. Even with my wife’s new income we lost so much money from losing foodstamps because we make too much to us having to pay our medicare premiums that her income barely helps…we are a little better off but not like I thought it would be…sorry for complaining…I will try to be quiet about it from now on.
@jukebox There are millions of households who are worse off than yours and other households that are better off. I understand your complaints about your own situation but there are many others who face the same, dire or better circumstance. In the end, majority of households make it through these difficult affordability crisis type of times. If not, hopefully government intervention will alleviate financial burdens by sending supplemental cheques to your mailbox.
true…it can always get worse, can’t it? I should count my blessings.
It’s ok if you want to vent on here, don’t keep quiet, speak out if you need to. ![]()
It’s a case of having to budget, working out, prioritising what ought to be spent first and then putting a little back each month for a rainy day and emergencies.
life is hard, that it should be rainbows and sunshine is a illusion
edit: doesnt mean it is not worth it
Actually would not mind if life was about rainbow farts, lollipopsicles and illusions on top of illusions. This so called reality seems pretty overrated methinks.

Little things add up. I think I’ll buy this cheap thing on amazon, it’s on sale, they’re practically giving this away. Then fast forward to the end of the month I’ve spent $300. I do the same with ice coffees.
There is a Medicare program called Extra Help that helps with Medicare premiums and Rx copays for Medicare advantage plans. Check into it to see if you qualify.
Do you use food banks? Some are terrible but there are good ones out there that give non-expired fresh foods.
Hang in there! Don’t smoke and don’t use marijuana because they cost too much.
Plan out all your meals in advance according to coupons and sales.
Turn off anything that’s plugged in when not in use. That’s what I do. Hopefully you can get it budgeted better. I know how much it sucks
