Might have to get a new phone

When I was unwell a few months ago I lost my ■■■■ one day. I was on an important phone call and kept getting cut off. So I launched my phone across the room.

Needless to say it smashed it bad on the back. It’s all cracked. And when I charge it it heats up something rotten so I think it’s damaged it.

I am deeply ashamed of my actions. I have never destroyed something so expensive before.

It’s only an iPhone 16 plus too. So it’s not even that old. I’m really annoyed with myself.

I was looking a while ago at the iPhone 17 in sage green. I am seriously considering getting it.

Anyway I’ll wait a couple of weeks cos I don’t get paid for another two weeks.

id get a new phone asap tbh. i know its expensive but a battery that heats up is not a good sign. It may be a few hundred dollars but its worth it for your safety.

Your right @POET

Problem is I’m so into the apple ecosystem. I’ve tried cheaper androids in the past and just could not get along with them.

I’m not leaving my phone to charge overnight. I only charge it when I can keep an eye on it.

I will get a new phone in a couple of weeks.

I threw my iPhone 7 at the wall while psychotic and it died. Same with my iPhone X during psychosis, but it had no damage.

I’ve destroyed phones and other electronic devices in the past when psychotic

Don’t be so hard on yourself @Qwerty it wasn’t your fault

I have an iPhone 17 and love it!

The Sage green one is stunning!

There are cases you can get, that can basically be run over and still not crack. Maybe put it in one of those in case it happens again. Don’t feel shame. We’ve all been there. Sounds like you and I need a good paintball game to help us feel better.

I found this one today:

But it requires an e-sim.

if you decide to get it just get the cheapest 10 quid sim and just don’t activate their sim. its 539 or so.

Thats a good deal @Ish

It’s the regular iPhone I want. I’m using the plus af the moment and I find the screen too large for me.

I wouldn’t get the real thin iPhone, the Air and I wouldn’t get the Pro models this year

Like you said the perfect phone is the regular 17 model.

I’ve had all three models for a while and the best model iPhone is the 17 (the one I have now)

The iPhones speakers and camera is subpar on the iPhone Air.

Probably why they getting rid of it so cheap then… sorry haven’t had an iPhone in a while.

They are not selling a lot of them

@Wave I currently have a Samsung S24 Ultra. I am thinking about switching to an iPhone because most of my class uses them, and I can better help them with assignments if I have one and know how to use it, too. Teaching technology is really important, and I try to incorporate it often. Anyhow, my question is what is wrong with the 17 Pro? I usually get the largest phone I can find, so that one appeals to me more. I’d appreciate any insight.

ETA: Just looked it up, and the two are the same size!

I had the 17 Pro for like only a week before I returned it.

I personally didn’t like how the camera bump was so raised.

It got in the way of me texting and scrolling properly

@Honeysuckle

Edit: The 17 Pro (not the Max) is basically the same size as the regular 17 model.

The Pro is just heavier
