Old phones are a fire hazard, almost burned down the house

I used a 9 years old Google Pixel 2 XL phone as secondary phone and a few days ago while charging it my room smelled like burning electronics. Phone was too hot and smelled burnt, battery was swollen. I unplugged it and threw it in the garbage. At least it did not cause a fire. I saw videos of phones and power banks exploding and burning down houses

That’s dangerous having battery expand like that

Had an old laptop do the same years ago

My charger was frazzled at the socket n i did not realise. Then one day wen it was charging i noticed a burning smell. The cable was about to catch fire.

Its scary isnt it.
