I think creative fervor for sure is accessed to a higher degree when manic. So if you have trouble buckling down it can seem like it’s necessary to engage with to create.
But hard work and application are really where the real sh it goes down. Artists are hard workers.

I’m only schizophrenic. I haven’t had experiences of mania since prodromal phase

They speculate that Beethoven did

Vincent van gosh had mania. They say he was schizoaffective. Which probably meant he had the bipolar subtype.
