My day so far (dentist, doctor, new med,)

First, I had another dentist appointment, this time for a filling. Right before the dentist was ready to start, I started feeling really anxious and felt a panic attack coming any second, so I quickly popped an Ativan. It was embarassing. The appointment went well though, teeth are looking better

Second, right after my dentist appointment, I had a doctors appointment (they are in the same plaza thankfully) I told my doctor about my situation earlier and that I took an Ativan. So she gave me prescription for a low dose of Propranolol. Its a beta blocker that can help with the physical symptoms of my anxiety disorder.

We also talked about my Olanzapine. I told her I still get paranoid and have some delusions, but not bad enough that I want her to raise my dose. Im on 5 mg. Anything lower than 5 mg and I cant sleep and my mental health starts to decline.

Have a good day everyone

I just talked to 2 pharmacies on the phone and I dont think im going to take the Propranolol. It can worsen asthma and cause asthma attacks. I have asthma. Im not happy my doctor prescribed me it and I wasted money at the pharmacy.

There are other options. I take 50-100 mg of hydroxyzine which is a prescription antihistamine that helps me feel relaxed as needed. You can take up to a total of 400 mg of it per day. It’s not addictive and works for both me and my husband, although he only needs 25 mg. Plus there are other options.
