About how I can only watch so much tv… man I don’t even watch tv I can’t. Nobody understands how difficult it is to be on antipsychotics
I can’t watch tv anymore either. I used to be transfixed on it prior to psychosis.
I can watch a little bit of I’m really interested but for the most part I can’t really I mostly just listen to music
Play your guitar and make a song up instead.
It goes something like this:
"No one can hear my voice unless I want them to.
So I will strum, strum, strum!
The docs’s insight is shameful and distasteful,
So I wil sing, sing, sing!"

I just watch some sports here & there. Rally, F1, MTB & a few more, I get upset, anxious & panicky, nervy with tv, idk why it happens ![]()
i think its annoying when mental health professions try to be life coaches. crosses the line imo. They dont know how hard it is to be tired all the time. Half the time i wake up and all i wanna do is go back to bed cause of these stupid meds. And people talk down to you like your lazy. I was trapped in the psych ward for like 3 months… no friends, no outside, no freedom, no money just hospital meals… i complained to my social worker that i want to leave and she goes “you know people are about as happy as they make their minds up to be”. like boaccch lol how about we throw you in prison for 3 months and see if you like it
@POET i agree with u.
I was told im not trying hard enough when i said i struggle to jog.
Tbf it was a gp doctor not a mental health specialist but really she shud know the basics.
yea i think people just like talking down to others sometimes. Sz is a brain disease, imagine saying that to someone with liver disease… " oh just try harder
"
Yeh its silly really.
Imagine if the attitude towards cancer was the same as that towards severe mental illness.
I have come to conviction psychiatrists are mainly pill pushers, they either don’t care or do not want to. It is darkly funny how severe illness is so readily dismissed by general public and how easy it seems to blame individual laziness and what have you. I do wonder could attitudes change in the future, well, we will see.
Its a lot of education attainment for a relatively unskilled job.
I think my psych is skilled and caring but I don’t think she understands my limitations and just how awfully hard it is for me
Agreed, there’s a lot of blame associated with mental illness for some reason. We’ve heard it said many times but it’s true, if you have heart disease everyone cries. If you have bipolar and make a delusion fueled decision everyone calls you stupid.
Agree with you there.
The pdoc/rc on my psych ward thinks I have to do shitty group therapies like ‘mindul movement’…mindfulness is pseudoscientific bullcrap.
A lot of RCs have a Jesus complex where they think they are healers by prescribing meds. I hate them all.
I have slowly redevoloped my ability to watch/enjoy TV. I have had periods where I could not watch it at all/very little. Same with pc games. My ability to watch/play/enjoy these kinds of entertainment has improved over time. I really much prefer the partial dopamine agonists, as I feel they, at least for me, offer increased concentration and a fair amount enjoyment if the show/game is good enough.
I am much more picky these days about both mediums, though. It takes high quality to keep my interest for long. It’s not like the days pre sz where I could watch and enjoy almost anything.
I just came back from psychiatrist.
I told him this month everything went smoothly. We had my haldol injection
I know someone who was a highly regarded maker of high range IQ tests, until he had a manic episode. After that he was persona non grata for many people in the ‘high IQ’ community. Good scores on his tests no longer being accepted for entry into many high IQ societies.
