My whine about life being unfair

The neighbor has an incessant, obsessive need to put me down, keep me down.

What did he do?

He just makes sure I have nothing going for me. No power, no control, no fight left in me, can’t show any sign of life. Maybe I’m the only one in the world this is happening to but if I show any of those he threatens me until I give up on them. I’ve never had much going for me in the first place but it’s hard not to take it personal when someone is doing that to me. He’s just another insecure jerk like the last guy who are both so fragile that if I have anything good happen to me I guess, to him, it makes him less of a man. I’m threatened all day.

You still didn’t answer my question.

What is it that he did?

If someone threatens you then you should go to the police.

People feel threatened all the time, you don’t run to the police every time you’re threatened. It sucks that it’s happening to me and the lady I know down the hall but it’s not a police matter (I don’t think).

What did he do?

When he senses something he doesn’t like down here he either stomps on the floor or bangs something until I give up. He makes sure it’s an unmistakable threat. The more I fight it the more persistent he gets in his stomping, it escalates until it gets scary.. The guy is hypersensitive.

If he stomps the floor ask him politely to stop doing it.

You are so wrapped up in your thoughts you think he has a personal agenda against you.

Tell him, you stomp the floors when you walk and it’s making a lot of noise.

He’s already shown he’s unfair and unreasonable, I don’t think a calm conversation is going to change his behavior. It’s a good idea though, I’ll consider it. I don’t think he concentrates on what I’m doing all day and he isn’t focused on me for most of the day but he just gets in these periods where I’m feeling put down and even though it’s a small part of the day it’s changing/changed my life.

He has no idea how you are feeling. He’s just walking around stomping his feet.

My mom does it also. But she lives on the first floor so she doesn’t bother anyone.

Maybe not but he makes sure I’m put down. I guess it’s part of the ‘making sure I have no sign of life.’ I understand he’s worried that somehow I might be better than him or I might do something that makes me better than him but he doesn’t have to threaten me over every minuscule thing I do. I’m through talking about it, I would go to the police in a heartbeat if I thought he was doing something illegal. Maybe he is. it isn’t just loud walking. It’s quiet all day then I hear loud bangs and stomps like he’s standing there stomping.

Dude! Your thinking is erratic.

You believe all kinds of things from a guy who’s heavy on his feet.

No, he’s walking around.

He’s still just stomping his feet.

He hasn’t. You are reading too much into his behavior.

No, he’s not doing anything illegal. If you go to the police they will take you to the ward.

You could talk to the guy. If it doesn’t help then talk to the building management about hearing banging from his apartment.

Now, that’s something that makes sense.

Maybe sometimes. Sometimes not.

I can assure you the guy doesn’t know how you are feeling. He doesn’t do it to mess with you.

But you should either tell him or talk to the management about hearing banging from his apartment.

I’ll grant you that you’re probably right on that one.

Hey @77nick77 . Some of this may be him being inconsiderate or a jerk but I can pretty much guarantee this is mostly making connections that arent there. This is very similar to, what I told you last time, mistaking my tinnitus for something else.

I was starting to lose it a bit a couple days ago and see some symptoms return and I had some similar thoughts.

Back when I was psychotic, I thought people were going to be controlled to use a chainsaw on me ( I know thats a bit graphic and scary but its the truth). When my dad was here 2 days ago, we had a conversation with a elder neighbor lady and she mentioned that she gets garter snakes that get stuck on some sticky strips or something and she has to throw them out. She expressed that she did not like have to deal with them. My dad then something about how he typically just would chop off garter snakes heads with a shovel and then throw them away.

Later on, I considered that this conversation may have been about me. I eventually was able to logically dismiss this possibility, but I believe that, much of the time this is the same kind of connection you are making.

I drift into this a bit myself when I am overly stressed, as you can see from my examples.

THe garage being hit for a second time. The driver ending up having no current insurance despite her claims. My insurance company threatening to cancel me for 2 claims in six months and other factors in my life were starting to put stress on me and it was starting to bring out symptoms.

You are not alone in this.

It sounds like you are only experiencing things that are more or less to be expected when living in a apartment complex. Connecting every little sound to have something to do with you personally is a symptom of mental illness.

Maybe move to a building with concrete that seperates the floors, if you aren’t already. That should reduce the noise considerably.

There’s a lot of people like that. That have an inflated ego for some bizarre reason. I think they are very threatened by people who might replace them as King of their universe.
