Noticed there's more 'bot' checkpoints online

I changed my internet service recently. Unfortunately, there are some things that require fast security checks that I can’t access online.

I had to go to the library to use the internet, but once I tried to leave the library intranet to connect to google there was a ‘bot’ check where I had to select every square with bicycles.

In 2022 when I was psychotic I tried connecting to ‘X’ ( twitter) and they had a bot check where you have to point an object in the same alignment as another object. I couldn’t do it, was agitated, and became paranoid.

To me this seems a little ableist. The claimed intended function of the bot test is to prevent DoS attacks and such malicious things, but it also may prevent someone from connecting to the internet and people, resources and services etc that they may need.

Not a major complaint right now but I already find so many passcodes and authentications, multi teir checks very annoying and agitating.

Yeah, they can be annoying, but I actually like them because I’d rather go through security checkpoints than having a virus, malware, or even ransomware on an account.

It’s like going through security at an airport. It’s annoying, but it’s necessary. I don’t want to do away with security and risk boarding an airplane with someone with bad intentions. It’s just the times that we live in.

Pretty much all of my accounts have 2-factor authentication. Some have 3-factor authentication, and I even have an account with 5-factor authentication. It takes me about 5 minutes just to get into that account.

It is what it is. Very annoying tho.

Yes, it can be annoying

Today I was on Indeed checking something and the verification wasn’t working so I couldn’t stay on the site
