I have obsessive thoughts and I started to overcome them, for example, once we laughed and mocked the saints and then I was afraid of God’s wrath and various other fears, like one day I thought I had a libido with my grandmother and I started to feel guilty. Now I let the guilt tell me whatever they want to tell me and I come face to face with the fear and I say how scared I will be, let me be scared and what happened, let them catch me and panic attacks and whatever else they want and that’s how I calm down.
Dont dwell on the odd thoughts of psychosis/ svhizophrenia. These are not your thoughts. This is just noise. I know our experience of the world and ourselves are one experience and thoughts seem like an extension of yourself, but they arnt: simply noise.
“What has been helping me lately is to stop fighting the fear. Instead of trying to suppress the thoughts, I almost challenge them like: ‘show me how much fear you can bring, I’ll accept it.’ Weirdly, when I stop resisting, my nervous system calms down.”
