My Life in the Sunshine
Life is a quiet storm, but how can it be satisfied When we’re taught to want more?
How can that first sip of cold water in the morning or the time spent walking to the mailbox replace the countless parties we don’t get to attend?
Why are we left saying “What’s next?” at the end of a boring day?
Could it be that nothing is left?
That we are longing for something that’s not there?
Are we searching for radical acceptance, one that resembles a warm hug?
Because the day is over.
The sun has set.
Why can’t that just be enough?
