Psych ward essentials

I think you should try and deal with it outside of the psyche ward if you can, it doesn’t need to be a foregone conclusion, I hope it works out for you, My stays I was always unprepared bc I was so unwell

Our local psych ward doesn’t permit phones, personal clothes, or even pencils. They’re very strict and even give you reusable drinking mugs. They don’t even allow forks to eat with, you have to use a spork. The hospital i was in last summer for ECT was a lot less strict, but it was 300 miles away from my hometown.

Comfortable footwear. Some ive been to take my laces and some don’t.

Once I went to the hospital saying that I’m suicidal. They upped my doses of AD and sent me home. Risky behavior. What if I had committed suicide?

That’s scary. Every time I’ve been to the hospital I stay at least 5-10 days for med adjustments.

oh, your manager told you that?

What my manager said was that she had to look through the rest of March‘s history and if she saw a trend in my “call avoiding behavior“ I would be let go. Based on the evidence of what she’s going to find there is no way I am keeping my job, I am basically already fired.

And if anybody was wondering, I did not even know that I was “ call avoiding”

Oh ok. Are you still taking shifts and answering calls?

No, my last day is tomorrow that’s when I get the final verdict. I really don’t see any way out of this situation. I know I’m already fired and putting that thought in my head that I’m already fired helps me get prepared for tomorrow.

I think it will be a great relief for you. I know it’s difficult for someone with your determination to quit anything. It’s more than likely a blessing in disguise.

That’s a positive way to look at things. Honestly I’m just worried about my finances

As someone already suggested, start the unemployment benefits process. If you can maybe try to reduce your living expenses for the long term. I don’t want to make suggestions, but with your set of health issues, you really have to look at taking some burden off yourself. If I didn’t buy this crap house I’m living in right now I would be in big trouble.

You can have a mp3 player I think.

Yeah there’s a lot people tell me to do. In my state unemployment is $240 a week that won’t even cover one months rent. People on here tell me all the time that I “need to cut my expenses” honestly they don’t know my life. They don’t know my situation. I live as cheep as I can. I don’t need to move into a group home. I don’t need roommates to save $100 a month. People don’t realize that I have to live in town because I rely on public transportation. My family don’t help me.

I know you want a certain standard of living and way of life, but to maintain it you need a certain income. You need to find a job that doesn’t trigger your symptoms that you can work at continuously on a regular basis. Otherwise, the unwanted options have to be accepted.

I am well aware. I have a potential job lead right now that pays $21 an hour and is full time. But it’s a pet insurance company not auto insurance so the stress would be a lot less
