That’s ok! You’re teaching her. It’s not about her perfectly falling into line. It’s about her growing into a well functioning adult. That takes many years! Like over 20 years!!! Just keep teaching and loving her and doing your best even though you’ll fall short many times. Just get back up and try again. You got this!
@WONDERER I hope you don’t mind me giving unsolicited advice. It’s just that I’ve raised kids and I know how I felt while raising them. I was often doing my best but feeling like my best wasn’t good enough. So I can understand how judgmental comments from others hurts so deeply
No, it’s completely okay.
I appreciate your words and advice.
I definitely feel the same way a lot of the time…
Like I’m not doing enough.
Good morning, have a 2 hour drive there and back.
I know the feeling @WONDERER . Parenting is the most rewarding but also most difficult thing you’ll ever do. You love your children and want to do everything perfectly for them which is a lot of pressure, because nobody is perfect. So just do your best out of love and that’s what they’ll remember when they’re grown
Good morning y’all. I hope you’re doing well. I’m alright, about to have a cup of coffee
.
That’ll happen sometimes
@WONDERER my little cousin is like nine years younger than me. My uncle used to have us babysit him on the weekends. We were teenagers and he was like five or something like that anyway we’d spend the night at uncle’s house on the weekends and in the morning he would make us chocolate chocolate chip pancakes every time we babysit he did that. Good memory.
@Lilyofthevalley as they say children don’t come with an instructional manual. It’s very hard being a parent. You don’t know if you’re doing the right thing. sometimes you end up doing the wrong thing trying to do the right thing. My daughter was very strong willed, and I had no idea what to do with her. I never laid a hand on her, but I took her toys away several times she told her stepdad that she just was used to having things taken away from her lol.
I had carrot cake and chocolate cake left over for Christmas for breakfast
Yeah @Loke . I made mistakes too. My daughter has learning disabilities and I switched her schools several times trying to get her the help she needed. But that was a huge mistake. She has no friends now and is 25 years old. Each time she switched school she lost touch with the old friends. It breaks my heart. She’s a good person who is kind sweet and thoughtful and she deserves to have friends. I know some kids stopped being her friend because of her learning issues that are at times apparent in everyday situations. But those kinds of people aren’t worth being friends with anyway. But regardless I feel responsible and terrible for it.
That said, she knows I love her and I tried my best. And that’s all I can ask for. We’re very close thankfully.
Sparrow had ADHD and Asperger‘s I presume we think she had Asperger‘s which we never tested her for it. She had a hard time in school. I had to go to the school several times for an IEP I presume you know what an IEP is individual education plan. You may call it something else in your state. She also had several allergies. It’s hard being a parent, I know you did your best. Try not to feel bad.
Yes I fought for an IEP too. My daughter was physically very ill, plus had dyscalculia, receptive language difficulties, and central auditory processing disorder.
That poor girl. it must’ve been hard for her.
I know I yelled at my daughter because she frustrated me so bad. I shouldn’t have.
Phoned up the west sussex mental health line = basically asked if i was gonna top myself, and then put the phone down. @Joker will know what a load of bollox they are.

Amazon still shows my headphones as being expected to be delivered today, but it’s 10:43 am and they’re still not out for delivery. I suppose they could still go out for delivery today, but I have a feeling they won’t be delivered until tomorrow. Oh well, I can wait an extra day.
You uk? They deliver upto 10pm. Pain in the arse i know. Make sure you have the map up, so you know where they are x
Can’t tell if you’re being facetious, sarcastic or whatever, but I’ll say I’ve had four shifts at my new job working without a trainer, and I’m feeling good about it ![]()
