Set up a patreon site as some members have suggested

I am a little unsure what Im going to do for content on the site, but I have 3 tiers of membership set up.

This will allow for subscriptions as some of you have requested.

So there are now two ways to contribute if you choose to.

I think I saw that there is a 10% fee on patreon accounts, so it is not as efficient as teh gofundme, but it is more convenient for recurring donations.

We currently have 745 dollars left of the 845 raised.

Remember, this is all voluntary. No members are required to contribute. Its just to keep the lights on for those who can afford to and feel it is worth it.

Nothing ever goes smoothly :melting_face:

I had no problems with gofundme. But patreon isn’t able to take my card.

What happens is:

  1. I enter my card details
  2. A window pops up saying confirm transaction in my banking app
  3. I leave the patreon browser and open my banking app and confirm the transaction
  4. When I go back to patreon it reloads the page and I go back to the start.

I’ll just make monthly contributions to gofundme for now.

It’s possible this is a problem that only happens on phones as you don’t have to leave the browser window on a pc.

Once I start my new job I’d like to join tier 1. Unfortunately due to my new benefits costs and bills I can’t do more than 5 bucks a month. I hope it helps though!

I’ve said it before, but thanks again for doing this @SzSupportAdmin. This forum is a lifeline for many people with psychosis who can’t socialize in person for various reasons, and setting up this forum to keep the community together is no small thing.

I think Ive decided that I will cover the 10% that patreon takes out too. That way all donations will be the full amount.

For example, if we get 100 a month in subscriptions, I will pay the 10 dollar patreon fee.

Edit: it will be easier to keep track of the running total that way anyway.

I managed to sign up on patreon but had to use PayPal as I couldn’t get my card to work directly.
