Tv doesn’t mention sz at all

People care for autism, down syndrome, alzheimer etc. but they never mention sz.

Why?

We don’t exist. Or they don’t want us to exist

You must not watch Law and Order.

We’re the bad guys.

i wonder if we can use our sz to get people to leave us alone when they try to sell us stuff or get us to join their cult.

walks down city street

“ hey you, i got an offer for you you wont be able to refuse”

“no thanks”

“ just give me a few minutes of your time here ill show you now, tries to reel in

“im schizophrenic leave me alone”

person scrunches their nose and says ohh sorry i didnt know then thinks to themself “am i in danger, is it legal for this type of guy to be walking around, should i call somebody, man what have i gotten myself into, ”

meanwhile stable szer just trying to get to where theyre going to do normal people shiz but was forced to utter the forbidden taboo of words in the regular world in order to not be bothered

You’ll probably hear a lot more about it now.

I used to think this was true but we have an ad here with a kid on a skateboard for a schizophrenia drug now. I forget which one.

I’ve been seeing a lot of medication ads on TV for psychosis. Latuda, Cobenfy, Vraylar, Abilify, and a few others I can’t remeber.

I’ve seen positive albeit usually quite grim displays or mentions of schizophrenia in literature/art forms. Usually in a pity manner than a respectful manner, not that we don’t need some pity because it kinda is harder to live normally but also a little respect and less patronising would be so much nicer

Stigma or lack of understanding? We may be too wild to write. I mean people have no idea what our disease is really.

Sometimes there’s stigma, but I feel like certain movies like A Beautiful Mind, sheds a more positive light on schizophrenia. Also it’s important to inform people what schizophrenia is. People who write and share their personal experience with the world help others understand and cope, which I would like to do someday.

I feel like they do mention sz, but only when one of us kills someone… which is no more common than with people who have no mental health issues.

Let’s face it, in many of the crime shows we are the villains
