I’d been though a bit, and I’m questioning can people tell sometimes when your screwed, I’m not meaning in having cognitive issues
I’m not 100% sure what you mean. If you are asking if people can tell if you have schizophrenia, I think the answer is probably sometimes yes, and sometimes no. Depends a lot on the individual and their current state of mind.
I think , most of the time, I can pass for “normal”, even when I am anxious. I dont have a lot of sz symptoms at the current time but sometimes have social anxiety when at work or in large crowds.
I have heard it described before as a duck floating on the water. Most people can only see the duck on the surface floating on the water. They cant see their legs paddling frantically below the surface.
So, I guess that there may not be a yes or no answer to your question. It all depends on the individual and their current state of mind.
You can with a lot of people and not just those with SZ.
Random thought but having sz and not knowing must be insanely difficult. Like if someone lived alone and had it for 10 years and had no idea. That would be horrible. I’m thankful my family brought me to the hospital on my first episode.
I dont think they know much without you telling them
I think they would guess I’m a bit odd from my gait and other physical signs.
I feel like I am screwed but I try and fight it, I try and remain optimistic because if I didn’t I would be very unwell again.
When I’m stable, I hide it so well, even sometimes at the hospital, people tell me, “Why are you here? You look so healthy.”
Your post reminds me of the line “You recognised the smell, human pain” by Fontaines D.C. I admire people who intentionally show it.
